New Universal Access Playground!

We're all invited to join the Rotary Club of Ann Arbor as they celebrate the grand opening of Ann Arbor Centennial Playground at Gallup Park, 3000 Fuller Road on Sunday, September 17th from 2:00-7:00 PM! The Rotary Club of Ann Arbor along with the State of Michigan DNR and the City of Ann Arbor Maintenance millage provided funding for this playground that is sure to be safe and inclusive for the child in all of us. The playground will offer children with disabilities opportunities to gain self-confidence and greater independence. Caregivers who have disabilities will have the chance to engage, play and supervise their children as never before. Festivities include a ribbon cutting live music, food trucks, activities for kids and shuttles from various locations to get you there. Planet Rock Climbing 101 for Teens

Friday July 28, 2017: 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm -- Planet Rock at 82 Aprill Drive off Jackson Road

This event is intended for grade 6-12

Join us off-site for an afternoon of indoor rock-climbing at Planet Rock, 82 Aprill Drive (off Jackson Road).

Registration is required and begins on July 1. To register, please email the attendee's first and last name, phone number, and the grade (6–12) they will enter in the fall to registrations@aadl.org. A confirmation email will be sent.

Attendees must have a parent or guardian sign the required waivers and bring it with them when they check in or be available in-person to sign the waiver when dropping the attendee off at Planet Rock.

Ann Arbor Mini Maker Faire

Saturday June 3, 2017: 10:00 am to 4:00 pm -- Downtown Library: 1st Floor Lobby

This event is intended for all ages.

The Ann Arbor Mini Maker Faire presents demonstrations and hands-on activities by makers of all types including roboticists, crafters, artists working with technology, and students.

Try your hand at demonstrations, interact with makers from all over the Ann Arbor area, and check out exhibits of all kinds, from soldering to sewing.

Thursday June 8, 2017: 10:00 am to 11:00 am -- Westgate Branch: West Side Room

This event is intended for preschool with an adult

Join us as caregivers and toddlers take a yoga journey that will have them barking in downward dog and hissing like garden sssssnakes.

This fun class provides key bonding methods between caregivers and child, while strengthening their growing muscles.

Participants should dress comfortably and bring a mat if they have one. A certified yoga teacher from A2 Yoga will lead this session.

Community Vinyasa Yoga

Saturday May 13, 2017: 10:00 am to 11:00 am -- Downtown Library: Multi-Purpose Room

This event is intended for grade 6-adult

Yoga is a fun and relaxing way to gain strength, flexibility, and balance while decreasing stress and tension.

Learn some of the basics of the Vinyasa style of yoga, which coordinates breath with movement. Participants should dress comfortably and bring a mat if they have one. All levels are welcome, but participants should be able to transition easily from the floor to standing. Come prepared to move!

Certified yoga teacher Raina LaGrand will teach this session.
